When struggles come to our way, often we think that we would be happier if the problems are solved. We would be happier if we earn more money. We would be happier if we always healthy. We would be happier if we marry a right person. We would be happier if we are famous. We would be happier if we......
There are a lot of requirements needed to be happy. We try our best to fulfill the requirements.... do we live happier?
Almost all people live to be happy. Is happiness our life's purpose? What life is for than just to live happily ever after?
When God created man and woman, He didn't create them to live happily ever after. God created man in his own image to bring glory and honor for Him. To rule over His creation. To live according to His will.
Often we forget our life's purpose and pursue the happiness for ourselves. We busy to study hard, work harder, make friends, build relationships, even actively join ministries.... Do we live happier?
Through today's sermon, God has reminded me that happiness cannot be pursued. Happiness is a blessing that comes only from the Lord.
Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in his ways. (Psalm 128:1)
We are blessed when we fear the LORD. We are blessed when we walk in his ways. We are happy. No one wants to judge us for a mistake or sin, because we walk in his ways.
You will eat the fruit of your labor; blessings and prosperity will be yours. (Psalm 128:2)
Some people work harder, even harder than most of people. Unless the LORD gives enable them to enjoy their fruits of labor, their labor would be meaningless. In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat- for he grants sleep to those he loves (Psalm 127:2).
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your sons will be like olive shoots around your table (Psalm 128:3)
A godly man leads his whole family to the LORD. That's why he sees his wife be like a fruitful vine within his house. He is blessed and be happy as his wife becomes fear of the LORD. He praises his wife.
A blessed wife get her reward she has earned, and her works bring her praise. She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. Can you imagine what kind of education and character building she teaches at home? No doubt that the children will be like olive shoots around their father's table. What a blessing!
Thus is the man blessed who fears the LORD. (Psalm 128:4)
Happiness is God's blessing for those who fear the LORD.
May the LORD bless you from Zion all the days of your life; may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem, and may you live to see your children's children (Psalm 128:5-6)
We don't live on yesterday, or even tomorrow. We always live on today. Do you want to be blessed day by day? Do you want to be prosper in your mind, heart, and soul? If you want to experiencing the LORD's blessings daily and be happy until you see your grandchildren, you have to fear the LORD.
Problems and struggles can always come to our way. People can take our money, even our beloved ones; but nothing will take the blessings and prosperity that we have in Christ Jesus. Only one requirement is needed: FEAR THE LORD.
Peace be upon Israel. Peace be upon you.
