Entering 2015: How could we live?

The end of the year was so close. The new year was coming. They were going to close 2014 and open 2015 with their beloved family and friends. No one ever imagine that a supposed-to-be-fun journey would be changed to be the end of life. But Air Asia QZ8501 crashed in bad weather, causing 155 passengers and 7 crews to death. Sunday morning, December 28, 2014 suddenly turned out to be Sunday mourning.

Families, relatives, and friends of the passengers and crews closed 2014 with a deep grief. They opened the new year 2015 with tears. Some of them saw their beloved ones came home as corpse. Some of them were and are still waiting for their beloved ones' bodies to be found. How could they live this year? Without their spouse, without their parents, without their siblings, without their children... How could they?

This loss reminded me of mine. Often I asked, how could I live without Papa? How could I?

I could not.
My tears drop every time I remember that Papa is no longer live here in this world.
Difficulties come to my life and I wonder what if Papa is still alive. But this sorrow is to be accepted.

No one can comfort us. No one can understand. The pain of losing our beloved ones is really great. How can we endure it?

A Christian song sometimes strengthen me. It said that when no one can comfort or even help, only Jesus be the answer of my life. But, is that true? Honestly, often I found myself crying so sadly even after lifting up a prayer. It has been so hard to keep acknowledge Him as The Almighty God when He does not look almighty at all. If He is Almighty, why should Papa died? Why should Air Asia crashed?

However, God is in control. He gives time for everything. There is a time to born and a time to die. We are all have a common destiny: to die. We know that, but we can never accept it. It is too scary for us.

Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, "He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men's hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy]  yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end."

It was God's design for us to live for eternity. Then, how can we live for eternity? There is no other way but Jesus. He Himself said, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16)"

So, we can put our hope in Christ. In Him we live, even after we die. The question is, "Do we live in Him now?" Let it be our resolution for this new year: live in Christ, abide in Him. Let Him gives us the answer of our life. The answer of our needs. We need to keep believing in Him although we cannot find out what God has done in our life.

We need to continue our lives while our beloved ones died. We need to keep providing our family needs while the doors of God's blessings seem to be closed. We need to keep working while our body and soul are tired, no solution has appeared yet. We need to keep pursuing holiness while impurity surrounds us. We need to keep hoping while it is impossible. How could we? Well, we are just God's servants. Let it be as He says. Let it as He wants. Let your heart follow Him, obey Him, love Him. Take this into your heart: for with God, nothing is impossible.

Thanks for the honest Nov. An honest writing struggling for God is more powerful than a long sermon filled with hypocrisy and human wisdoms

Let it be a year of laughters, or a year of tears, we will continue to worship the Lord throughout 2015.
